Read Radius is a book review and writing-tips site I run on my own reviews of novels across historical fiction, YA, and graphic novels, plus guides on character writing and craft. These terms explain what you can expect from using the site, and what I expect from anyone who submits content, comments, or links here. By reading past this page and continuing to use the site, you’re agreeing to what’s below.

1. What You’re Reading Here

Everything published on Read Radius the book reviews, the writing guides, the images, the site design reflects my own opinions and work (or, where noted, the work of guest contributors). A book review here is exactly that: one reader’s take, not a professional literary critique commissioned by a publisher or a definitive judgment on a book’s worth. If you disagree with a rating or a take, that’s completely fair reading is subjective, and I’d genuinely rather you form your own opinion than take mine as gospel.

2. Using Content From This Site

You’re welcome to read, share, and link to anything on Read Radius. What I ask is that you don’t:

  • Copy full articles or large sections of text and republish them elsewhere, with or without credit
  • Use images from the site (book covers, custom graphics) outside of fair-use commentary without checking with me first
  • Repackage the content for a commercial product a newsletter roundup, an ebook, a course without asking

If you want to quote a line or two from a review with a link back, that’s fine and appreciated. If you want to do something bigger, just email me and ask most of the time the answer is yes.

3. If You Submit a Review, Guide, or Comment

Read Radius occasionally accepts guest reviews and writing guides, and readers can comment on posts. If you submit anything to the site:

  • It needs to be your own original writing. Don’t submit something copied from another site, generated wholesale by an AI tool and passed off as your own analysis, or lifted from a book’s marketing copy.
  • By submitting, you’re giving me permission to publish it on the site, edit it for length or clarity, and keep it up indefinitely (you can ask me to take it down later, and I will).
  • I read every submission before it goes live, and I’ll pass on anything that’s plagiarized, offensive, or just doesn’t fit the site.

4. Linking to Read Radius

You don’t need my permission to link to any page on this site that’s how the internet is supposed to work. If you’re running a book blog, a writing forum, or a similar site and want a reciprocal link or a mention, reach out through the contact page and I’ll take a look.

I do ask that no one frame a link to Read Radius in a way that’s misleading, defamatory, or implies an endorsement that doesn’t exist (for example, suggesting Read Radius partners with or endorses a product it has no actual relationship with).

5. A Few Honest Disclaimers

  • Book details publication dates, page counts, award wins, plot summaries are checked as carefully as I can manage, but publishers reissue books, editions vary, and I’m human. If you spot something wrong, tell me and I’ll fix it.
  • Reviews reflect a personal reading experience. What lands for me might not land for you, and vice versa.
  • Any writing advice on this site (character development guides, craft tips) is exactly that advice, not a guarantee that following it will get your manuscript published or agented.
  • Read Radius links out to bookstores, publishers, and other sites for convenience. I don’t control what’s on those sites and I’m not responsible for their content or their policies.

6. Changes to These Terms

If I update these terms in a meaningful way, I’ll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you’re okay with the update.

7. Get in Touch
