I aim to read four books per month, which breaks down to roughly one book per week. This isn’t a random number I picked to sound impressive. After years of tracking my reading habits, I discovered that one book per week is my sweet spot it pushes me to stay consistent without turning reading into a stressful chore. When I tried aiming for six or seven books a month, I found myself skimming pages just to hit the number. That defeated the entire purpose. Reading should expand your mind, not become another item on your to-do list.

The real secret isn’t speed it’s routine. I read for thirty minutes every morning with my coffee and another twenty minutes before bed. Those small blocks add up fast. I also mix up my formats: physical books for deep nonfiction, ebooks for travel, and audiobooks during my commute. That variety keeps things fresh and makes every spare moment count. My advice? Don’t copy someone else’s number. Start with two books a month, track what works, and adjust from there. The goal isn’t to impress anyone with your count. It’s to build a habit that actually lasts.
